Dermal Fillers – Wrinkle Correction

All youthful smooth skin has an abundance of two important things – hylauronic acid and collagen – to keep the skin smooth and supple.  Hylauronic acid provides the skin with volume.  Collagen contributes to its structure.  As we age the levels of hylauronic acid and collagen decrease, diminishing the skins ability to retain moisture and structure.  This results in fine lines and eventually wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are injections of hylauronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar and collagen derived from human collagen and manufactured under laboratory conditions.  These injections are just below the skins surface to temporarily fill moderate to severe wrinkles.  The body then reabsorbs the fillers over time, so periodic touch ups are needed to maintain results.  Results commonly last between 4 and 6 months.
